Hyderabad: Shraddha Walkar was killed by her common-law partner Aaftab Poonawala in Delhi in May in a horrific murder that shocked the nation.
To dispose of her body, Poonawala, 28, cut it into pieces and stored them in a freezer before disposing of them at various locations. To combat the stench, he used room fresheners, incense and potpourri.
After the case came to light, the defendant’s food blog on Instagram started getting all the attention. His account, called hungrychokro_escapades, had nearly 28,000 followers by November 14th, ie; before the grisly murder came to light.
Now, as of November 19, the account has more than 29,500 followers.
The account has 601 posts, most of which are high-quality food photos. The resume says F&B consultant and food photographer. His last article was published on February 8.
The comment section of nearly every post is now filled with people mentioning Walkar’s murder.
Poonawala and Walkar met via a dating app in 2019 and moved to Delhi’s Mehrauli in May after trekking through the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Both are from Vasai, Maharashtra.
The murder came to light after her father filed a disappearance complaint on October 6 because he could not reach her.
