Sales of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) fell in the former Adilabad district from 29 to 31 December.

Adilabad: The Prohibition Duty Department was alarmed by a drop in sales of Made in India Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in the erstwhile Adilabad district from December 29 to 31.
According to the Prohibition and Excise Officer, Adilabad’s consolidated alcohol sales stood at Rs 9.61 lakh during December 29-31, compared to Rs 11.27 lakh in the same period in 2021, a drop of 14 per cent. There are a total of 192 licensed outlets in the region.
The Mancherial district is known for having the highest sales of alcoholic beverages at Rs 3.97 lakh for three days in 2022 as against Rs 4.61 lakh in the same period in 2021.
However, beer sales in the region rose over the three days. As many as 11,069 cases of beer were sold in the former Adilabad district as compared to 10,586 cases, an increase of 5%.
Mancherial district ranks behind Nirmal, Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad in terms of beer sales. It registered 5,128 cases of beer sold in three days, while 3,200 cases were sold in Nirmal and 1,475 cases in Adilabad. Kumram Bheem Asifabad sold 1,266 boxes.
Meanwhile, meat store outlets have reportedly seen strong sales over the New Year. The past district had more than 500 chicken shops and 300 meat centers registering sales of Rs 1 crore in three days.
