Angel: Actress Amber Heard appears to have deleted her Twitter account just days after her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk’s controversial takeover.
He finally closed the $44 billion acquisition of the social media platform last week and immediately set about announcing a slew of changes, Metro.co.uk reported.
The move followed a series of prominent faces announcing their plans to leave the platform, including Shonda Rhimes and Mick Foley.
Heard, who previously posted under @realamberheard, is no longer visible on the microblogging site, sparking speculation that she’s following suit.
Instead, a message on her previous page read: “This account does not exist. Try to find another”.
The account reportedly went down earlier today, but the reason behind it has not been clarified.
Amber took a step back from the spotlight after losing a high-profile court battle with Johnny Depp, and she has not spoken publicly about the changes to her account.
Her Instagram is still visible, but hasn’t been updated since June 1.
The actress had been in a relationship with the billionaire businessman for about a year before he started dating musician Grimes.
Musk’s acquisition of Twitter closed last week, after which he quickly declared himself “Chief Twit.”
He is now the sole board member, and since he took office, he has recommended a raft of changes to the social media platform, including a much-discussed subscription service for verified users.
“Twitter’s current system of lords and farmers who have or don’t have a blue checkmark is a bull**t. Power goes to the people! Blue is $8 a month,” he tweeted earlier this week.
“Adjust prices by country based on purchasing power parity.
“You’ll also get: – Priority for replies, mentions and searches, which is critical to defeating spam/scams – Ability to post long videos and audios – Half the number of ads. And for publishers willing to work with us to bypass Paywall.
“It will also give Twitter a revenue stream that rewards content creators.”
Twitter Blue currently costs $4.99 per month and allows subscribers in certain countries to edit or undo tweets, read articles without ads, and customize the navigation bar.
Many stars have previously said they plan to exit the platform following Musk’s arrival.
