Hyderabad: With parliamentary elections in Gujarat drawing to a close, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) now wants to focus on Telangana as it prepares for next year’s elections.
As part of the preparations, the saffron party plans to use the services of its top leadership to boost the state’s prospects.
BJP National President JP Nadda visited Telangana on December 16 to address a public meeting marking the culmination of the fifth phase of BJP National President Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s “Praja Sangram Yatra”.
Nadda will address the meeting in the Lok Sabha constituency Karimnagar represented by Bandi Sanjay.
Daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator, K. Kavitha’s name has come up in Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into Delhi liquor policy scam and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also informing her In connection with the same case, the BJP apparently wants to intensify its attack on TRS on its home turf.
Political observers said the TRS was already rattled by a series of raids by central agencies targeting Telangana ministers, MPs, MLAs and other leaders in different cases, a situation that the BJP may try to exploit politically.
Nadda has described the KCR government as the most corrupt in the country when speaking at past public meetings.
The latest developments may provide BJP leaders with more ammunition to attack TRS.
Although the BJP failed to win the by-election for the Munugod parliamentary seat, party leaders believe that an agency investigation into the inaction and commissioning of the ruling party leader will help strengthen their confidence in the ruling party. The attack came on the eve of a parliamentary vote.
After winning parliamentary seats in Dubbak and Huzurabad, the BJP hoped to score a hat-trick in Munugode, but the TRS foiled its plans by winning a hotly contested by-election.
However, a series of raids on TRS top leaders by agencies such as the ED, CBI and IT have come in handy for the saffron party to intensify their attacks.
TRS leaders saw the raid as a counter to the arrest of three BJP operatives in October when they tried to lure four TRS MLAs with huge sums of money into defecting to the BJP.
As the names of BJP General Secretary BL Santhosh and two others came up in the investigation, the State Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) not only summoned them for questioning but also listed them as accused.
The MLA poaching case being investigated by the state government and raids at central agencies have already sparked a political uproar in the state.
The ongoing public meeting of the BJP state chairman paddyatra and Nadda to deliver on December 16 may add further fuel to the fire.
Last week, there was a showdown at the start of the fifth phase of the padyatra, with the government refusing to approve the launch from the town of Bhainsa in Nirmal district.
The police refused to approve the launch of the paddyatra from Bhainsa and the public speaking by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, citing fears of disrupting peace in the community-sensitive town. Meeting.
The Telangana High Court conditionally granted paddyatra on a BJP petition challenging the police action.
The tone and tone of Bandi Sanjay’s speech showed that the BJP is fully committed to its 2023 mission.
Bandi Sanjay, whose walkathon entered its eighth day on Monday, described himself as a “crazy man” who “works for the poor and protects Hindu Dharma and Hindu brothers”.
He blasted the TRS government, questioned the allocation of “40%” of 2BHK houses to specific neighborhoods, and asked where the majority of the 80% of Hindus should go.
“Once we come to power, the BJP will bring the bulldozers to Telangana,” he said.
BJP leader attacks KCR and Kavitha says father and daughter cried after CBI notified her in Delhi liquor scam.
“KCR, no one can save you. We will send your corrupt family members to prison,” he said.
