Audio clips against BJP

Hyderabad: Reinforcing the argument that the covert operation to poach lawmakers from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) has been blessed by top Bharatiya Janata party leaders, including union home minister Amit Shah, two audio clips appeared on Friday . The clip shows that the ultimate aim of the operation is to overthrow the TRS government using a trick that the BJP has successfully deployed many times in other states.

The two clips, which together run for about 42 minutes, debunked claims by BJP state units that the BJP had nothing to do with the operation and showed that the poaching attempt was carried out with the knowledge of the party’s top leadership. The names of Amit Shah, BJP National General Secretary BL Santosh and a Tushar, whose identities are unknown, but are said to have traveled to Ahmedabad on the same charter plane as Shah, appeared several times, one of whom was referred to as “Swamiji”, Bharati, who may have been arrested by Ramachandra on Wednesday, also said that a similar operation was carried out in Delhi and that “43 people are ready”.

The first audio clip, broadcast around noon, was a conference call involving TRS MLA pilots Rohit Reddy and Ramachandra Bharathi and Nanda Kumar.

During the 13-minute conversation, Ramachandra Bharathi, known as Swamiji, who was apparently a mediator at the top of the BJP, insisted that the MLA join the BJP before the Munugode vote.

Santosh was described by Swami as the secretary of the RSS national organization, while “Number One” and “Number Two” were said to refer to Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. “BL Santosh is a key player in our organization. No.1, 2 visit BL Santosh’s house by themselves. BL Santosh doesn’t go to No.1, No.2’s house, it’s an RSS protocol,” he said.

With Swami pressuring Rohit Reddy for more names, the MLA was heard to say it would be difficult to reveal names at this stage, adding that “two have been confirmed”. Swami said his organization needed “some good leaders” and he also asked the TRS MLA not to speak on the phone for long periods of time. Also in the clip is Nanda Kumar telling Swami that “Sharat was very close to Mr Rohit”.

“Aurobindo Pharma Salat? It’s a very complicated case and we’re going to have to sit with them to deal with it,” Swami replied.

The second clip, lasting 27 minutes, more clearly illustrates the actual objectives of the covert operation, using Amit Shah’s name more frequently.

Swami can be heard saying in the video that the BJP’s state leadership was bypassed and that the “centre” handled the deal directly. Much of the discussion revolves around getting Rohit Reddy ahead of the Munugode vote, with Swami saying Rs 100 crore is not an issue and “the BJP is ready to invest in anything” to get the incumbent MLA.

The most important revelation came when Swami spoke about himself and BL Santosh discussing the matter with Amit Shah, who told them if it was for “one or three people” to go to Hyde Laba is bad. “Let them come to Delhi,” Shah said, Swami said, adding that within a month “he” (K Chandrashekhar Rao) would dissolve the government once Rohit Reddy resigned. “It will collapse,” he said.

The conversation also indicated that the BJP has pulled in Delhi and that “43” is ready to come. Swami also assured central security to those who joined the party.

At the same time, the police have sent some audio and video recordings to forensic identification. If there are several tapes, forensic experts are expected to report soon, the sources said.
