Representatives of the pharmaceutical company handed over a cheque of Rs 100,000 to pay for the adoption and maintenance of the African lion, according to zoo officials.
Hyderabad: On Friday, Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Limited adopted Manohar, an African lion from the city’s Nehru Zoo, for a year.
A representative of the pharmaceutical company handed a cheque for Rs 1 lakh to A. Nagamani, Dy, according to zoo officials. Curator of Nehru Zoo, responsible for the adoption and maintenance of African lions.
Zoo officials thank Miapur’s Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services for supporting wildlife conservation for a year in a row. Last year, they adopted a Royal Bengal tiger.
The group’s Ashutosh Anil Kotwal, Satyanarayan Giri and BLN Deepak visited the zoo with officials and appreciated the cleanliness and hygiene maintained in the zoo.
