Prayer meeting: After Madhya Pradesh minister Narottam Mishra, now BJP militants in Uttar Pradesh demanded a boycott of the movie ‘Pathan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone for insulting ‘Sanatan sanskriti’.
BJP leader Rajesh Kesarwani said: “Saffron-colored vulgarity is present in a song in the film, which is an insult to the Hindu community and Sanatan culture. Therefore, we have expressed our concerns.”
The BJP leader also demanded that the state government immediately ban the film in Uttar Pradesh and take stern action against the producer.
Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra on Wednesday called the costumes and scenes in the film “nasty and reprehensible”.
“Actress Deepika Padukone’s costume is very offensive and the song was shot with a dirty mind. The scene and costume of the song should be changed otherwise we will have to decide Whether it was screened in Madhya Pradesh,” Mishra said, accusing the actress of supporting the “Tudd Tud” gang.
Notably, Govind Singh, the leader of the opposition party in the Madhya Pradesh assembly, also expressed his anger over the attire in the song. “The song and the costume scene are very offensive. This kind of thing is not acceptable in Indian culture,” Singh said.
