Scheduled to be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this month, Arunachal Pradesh’s new East Ibero Airport will be a unique architectural marvel with this eco-friendly structure Demonstrate a culture and vision of sustainable development.
Bamboo and rattan have been widely used in the construction of new airports, mainly indoors.
The majestic welcome door has attracted widespread public attention. It is shaped like a two-headed great hornbill, with wings spanning the entry and exit corridors to greet people entering and leaving the airport.

The gate was designed by Aroty Panyang, a young Arunachalian architect from Dongxiang District. She believes that by exhibiting the bird in this initiative, they are helping to protect it and other endangered species around the world.
The 23-foot-tall, 82-foot-wide structure was built on a 2,500-square-foot space using bamboo and rattan, which the state’s tribes have strong ties to and has proven to be an ideal building material .
An airport video has gone viral on all social media platforms showing the interior of the airport being built entirely out of bamboo.

The use of bamboo in modern buildings has increased over the past few years due to the popularity of sustainable concepts and the use of eco-friendly materials. Since bamboo is a renewable material, it is increasingly adopted by modern sustainable architects.
People in Arunachal Pradesh use bamboo to build their houses or any other structures, as well as to make everyday items such as baskets and mats. To make the structure being built a symbol of their country, bamboo and rattan were their choices because of their long-standing relationship with both materials.
