Angels: Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth is genetically predisposed to Alzheimer’s disease, with medical experts telling him he is “eight to ten times more likely” to develop the disease than the general population.
“It’s not a predetermined gene, but it’s a strong sign. Ten years ago, I think it was considered more of a determinant,” he explained.
According to aceshowbiz.com, Hemsworth said he was disturbed by the health warning.
The Hollywood star, who has India, twins Sasha and Tristan, ages 10 and 8, and Elsa Pataky, told Vanity Fair: “Yeah, there’s a lot of intensity to harnessing it. Most of us like to avoid talking about death, hopefully We can avoid it somehow. We all believe that we will solve this problem.”
“And then all of a sudden being told that some important indicators actually point to this route going to happen, the reality of it sinks in. Your own mortality.”
Hemsworth hopes not to overstate his fitness. But the movie star, best known for playing Thor in the Marvel films, is also determined to protect his health.
He said: “If you look at Alzheimer’s prevention, the good thing about prevention is that it affects the rest of your life. When you have a bias on cardiovascular heart disease, cancer or anything, it’s all about sleep management, stress management. , nutrition, exercise, fitness. These are the same tools that need to be applied in a consistent way.”
Hemsworth also plans to discuss his health concerns with the children. He shared: “One day I’ll bring it up. They might want to test themselves and (find out) ‘Are you in the category that’s sensitive to this?'”
