Mahababad: In a shocking incident, a secondary school teacher (SGT) working at the Mutyalammagudem Tribal Welfare Dojo Girls’ School allegedly beat up three students in a “state of intoxication”, prompting one of the victims to be taken to hospital .
Although the incident happened on Tuesday, authorities, including the principal, tried to cover it up to protect the teachers involved. It is reported that the teacher came to the school drunk and was ridiculed by the students. Furious over the incident, the teacher reportedly attacked three seventh-grade students.
When one of them complained of severe pain in the neck, the principal gave a tablet and said the pain would subside. He also asked the students not to disclose the matter to anyone. But the victim called her parents on Wednesday to report the incident. Her parents rushed to the school and transferred her to the district hospital in Mahababad for treatment. The victim was then transferred to a private hospital due to severe pain.
On Thursday, Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod took the incident seriously and asked District Collector K Shashanka and relevant officials to take appropriate action against those responsible for the incident and conduct a detailed investigation into the incident. She also asked the doctor about the student’s situation and asked them to provide the best treatment.
