He even claimed that the company may have obtained a fitness certificate from an engineering firm, but so far has not submitted it to the city. He claims the company reopened the bridge for the public on its own without notifying civic agencies.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel also told the media that usually when a bridge is constructed or renovated, before opening, a technical assessment must be carried out, and the bearing capacity must be tested, and then a certificate of use issued by the relevant authorities can be obtained, and only in this way, Bridges are open to the public.
Built around 150 years ago by Morby ruler Sir Vagaji Thaker, the drawbridge is 233 meters long and 4.6 feet wide.
