Adilabad: Officials from the forestry department held a silent rally on Wednesday to condemn the killing of FRO Ch Srinivas Rao in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district in several places in the former Adilabad district.
In Mancherial, officials described the incident as brutal and asked the government to provide weapons to stop the locals from attacking. They regret risking their lives to perform their duties. They wear black ribbons and demand severe punishment for the murderer. They added that they protect the woodlands by working 24 hours a day.
The meeting was attended by forest ranch officials Nagovath Swamy and Geetha Rani, staff from Mancherial, Luxettipet and Devapur ranches and ministerial staff. Similar rallies and protests took place in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Nirmal areas.
