Now, the restaurant brings the taste of Gujarat’s most popular dish “Undhiyu” to the city.
Known as a poster dish of Gujarati cuisine, it is so popular that January 14 is marked as National Undhiyu Day. Gaurang’s Kitchen will be serving this mouthwatering delicacy this month until January 14, 2023.
“Undhiyu” is a dish made with a variety of seasonal vegetables that marks the beginning of winter in Gujarat. The dish has achieved cult status due to the seasonality of its ingredients and time-consuming cooking techniques. Each region of Gujarat has its own unique flavor and is consumed throughout.
Surat’s “Undhiyu” has a garlicky flavor, while in Ahmedabad it has a very mild flavor and is often prepared in rural areas with a small amount of oil and a small amount of masala.
Together with “Undhiyu”, the restaurant will indulge you with appetizers, main courses, bread, rice, “Khichdi”, “Dal Kadi” and exquisite desert indulgences. For starters, you have “Patra”, “Lilvaka Kachori”, “Sabudana Bhel”, “Bhavangri Mirchi Na Bajiya”. Among the main dishes, the highlight is “Undhiyu”.
