Hyderabad: This must be good news for fitness enthusiasts who are looking for an alternative to expensive indoor gyms in Hyderabad.
Encouraged by the positive response to the Open Gym Initiative, the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is currently opening nine more gyms in the state capital.
Of the nine gymnasiums that will open soon, a total of five will be in the Secunderabad district, while two will be built in the Serilingampally and Kukatpally districts.
The existing 137 open gymnasiums located in different parts of the city were built in open areas, community halls, etc. on the advice of local elected representatives and the Resident Welfare Association (RWA).
Due to the positive public response to this concept, which is quite common in Europe and America, GHMC decided to add more such facilities.
In addition to these health and fitness facilities, 103 open gymnasiums specially set up in the park have also been welcomed by citizens.
A typical open gym is equipped with a myriad of exercise machines, including abdominal riders, lateral walkers, seated twisters, bench pulls, vertical shoulder pulls, leg extensions, chest presses, aerial walkers, shoulder twisters machines and circle swings.
Currently, in several locations, park visitors are in these open gyms after completing a walk/jog in the lung space workout path.
Speaking of Telangana todayResidents say these gyms are very useful for people, especially those who cannot afford private facilities that offer the same services.
“The open gym at Kukatpally is used by several people and it is well maintained. Many people who don’t want to spend money on a private gym but are interested in exercising with equipment are very happy with the facilities set up here,” says technician Sai Teja.
