Hyderabad: Amberpet inspector at Vanasthalipuram police station has opened a case for allegedly defrauding NRIs of Rs 5.4 lakh.
Inspector Sudhakar and a suspended policeman allegedly took the money from the NRI to secure a settlement, saying they knew Tahsildar. But the problem cannot be solved.
The victim approached the Vanasthalipuram police after he tried unsuccessfully to get the money back from the inspector. Based on the complaint, the police opened a case under sections 420, 406, 467 of the IPC.
