Hyderabad: Hyderabad cybercrime police raided the Madhapur office of Congress polling strategist Sunil Kanugolu after a case was opened for making derogatory comments about Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
A team of Hyderabad cybercrime police raided the office and confiscated laptops and computers in the office. Employees’ mobile phones were also taken and turned off during the raid to prevent them from using their phones to deactivate any social media accounts.
A top source in the Hyderabad police said that the SK team is known to make frequent anti-Telangana and anti-TRS party statements and posts on social media platforms. “The team did this using fake IP addresses, however, we managed to break through and eventually raided the office,” said a senior Hyderabad police official.
Congress leaders Shabir Ali, Malu Ravi and Anil Kumar Yadav rushed to the scene after learning of the police raid on the office and got into an altercation with the police. But the police explained the case to them and sought their cooperation in the investigation.
Hyderabad Police have opened a case after some people started posting anti-TRS and anti-Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao content and started investigation. A dedicated cybercrime police team made the breakthrough with the help of experts.
