Hyderabad: Welcome to the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Hyderabad on 11th February, Minister of Industry KT Rama Rao said in October last year that many countries around the world competed to host the championship and finally chose Hyderabad .
“This is not Hyderabad’s or Telangana’s achievement, it’s India’s achievement,” Ramalao said at a “30-day countdown” event at the Gateway of India in Mumbai.
The match will be held in Hyderabad on February 11 with the picturesque Hussain Sagar. Up to 22 drivers and 11 teams from 9 countries will drive the new Gen3 era Formula E cars.
Rama Rao said it was part of a four-year deal to be held in India until 2026. The minister also said that Hyderabad will host the EV Mobility Summit from February 5-11 to encourage start-ups to come up with new innovations. A $100,000 prize will be given to the best ideas in the form of grants and mentorship, he said.
“The first-ever Formula E World Championship coming to Hyderabad and India is a testament to the progressive direction India is taking. Sustainable mobility is the pathway to a cleaner, greener future. We are proud to be in Hyderabad Rabha hosts this international event and welcomes all Indians to come and witness it,” said Rama Rao, thanking Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra for his efforts.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Sambhaji Shinde, Indian Road Transport and Road Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Greenko and Ace Group founder Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty also spoke.
Hyderabad E-Prix 2023 Accelerated by Greenko is organized by Ace Nxt gen in association with Telangana Government and Formula E. Hyderabad will host the 4th round of the 16-match Season 9 Championship, which will take place between January and July 2023.
A total of 11 teams and 22 cars participated, including well-known brands such as McLaren, Maserati, Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan and Mahindra Racing. The highlight of the event will be the launch of the Gen3 Era Formula E race car, known for its 322 km/h top speed and the world’s fastest, lightest, most powerful and most efficient electric racing car.
