Hyderabad FC to host Goa FC

Hyderabad: Defending Indian Premier League champions Hyderabad FC will host Goa FC at the Gachibowli Athletics Stadium on Saturday to regain their top spot.

Hyderabad Football Club wins consecutively. They currently have seven points from three games and can win this one to top the league table. The Gowers, who have won both games so far, can do the same if they can put a positive spin on this game. Carlos Pena’s side have beaten Chennai FC and East Bengal FC in two matches so far, with Edubedya and Noah Sadawi both scoring in stoppage time.

They are the only team to drop points in the league so far and HFC manager Manolo Márquez believes it will be another tough game for his side. “Goa has a balanced side and is off to a good start in the current campaign. We all know Carlos Pena’s style of play is difficult to face, but we will do our best to find a solution and have a A strong game,” the Spaniard said.

Hyderabad have had an impressive start to the season so far as they are the top scorers in the league. Bartholomew Ogbeche has scored twice in the tournament, while Laxmikant Kattimani is now keeping a clean sheet thanks to the solid centre-back duo of Odei Onaindia and Chinglensana Singh.

Mohammad Yasir and Halicharan Narzary were both effective in front of goal, while Joao Victor also scored in midfield. HFC just beat Bengaluru FC 1-0 and Manolo Marquez is confident his side will perform well again.
