The victim, who has not been named by the police, searched for call girls on an online platform and obtained the phone number. He contacted the woman and spoke to her.
“Initially, the man was asked to pay Rs. 510 for booking fees. Later, he was asked to transfer Rs. 5,500 and Rs. 7,800 for security deposit and other charges. In conclusion, he ended up transferring Rs. 197,000 over a period of time,” the police said.
After realizing he had been scammed, the man contacted police, who opened a case for investigation.
