Hyderabad: Considering its huge size, the state government is considering developing the Koheda fruit market in stages. Proposals have been submitted to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the development of the first phase of the market will start soon.
Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, who is reviewing the arrangements, wants the authorities to develop the required infrastructure for the entire market in the first phase to enable it to start operations as early as possible. Under the leadership of Mission Bhagiratha, works worth Rs 4 crore will be carried out to supply 240,000 liters of water per day.
Officias was directed to complete the first phase of development within nine months of receipt of the license.
The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Raghunandan Rao, Marketing Director Laxmi Bai and other officials.
