Hyderabad: The state capital continued to miss the cold of winter as day and night temperatures remained above normal and sweltering conditions continued to prevail throughout December.
Hyderabad recorded a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius on Friday, while Shaikpet recorded a maximum of 33.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
Hyderabad recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday. It was the second warmest December temperature since 2015, according to the IMD-H. Temperatures are expected to be warm through the first week of January.
At the same time, the minimum temperature is close to or higher than normal. The city has only experienced extreme cold at night twice this month, and the remaining days have exceeded 15 degrees Celsius and even soared to 20 degrees Celsius. On Friday, the temperature was 21C, three notches above the season average.
Other regions are also being affected by rising temperatures. Julurupadu in Bhadradri Kothagudem district recorded the highest temperature in the state at 36.8 degrees Celsius on Friday.
