Hyderabad: Writer and producer Kanika Dhillon is known for her unconventional and progressive writing. Movies like “Manmarziyaan”, “Haseen Dillruba”, “Rashmi Rocket” showcase her unique storyline and powerful female characters. A woman of strong opinions, Dhillon has always portrayed herself as a confident and ambitious woman who is not afraid to speak her mind.
Taking the same stance, Kanika recently posted a video of her working with change.org India against domestic violence.
Dhillon strives to make a difference by fighting the brutality of the most underrated crime. As an authorization step for the authors, the scroll was posted on their Instagram handle by change.org India. In the video, Kanika can be seen talking about how domestic crime is often used as an excuse, and why many women don’t object. She pointed to the helpline 181 (reporting domestic abuse) and asked everyone to sign a petition she launched against crime.
Kanika also asked big entrepreneurs like Zomato and Blinkit to display the same hotline number on their websites and apps so that several women would know. We absolutely need more dynamic women like Kanika who not only excel in the workplace but also strive to make a difference for the better.
The writer is currently looking forward to her next “Dunky,” which will be released in 2023, and is also working on a sequel to “Hasin Dirruba.”
