Hyderabad: On December 5, MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao will inaugurate the revitalized Bansilalpet Stepwell in Secunderabad.
The revitalized stepwell features a tourist plaza, a replica model of the stepwell, and a display of equipment found in removing the silt, debris and trash that accumulated in the well.
Livestock Minister T Srinivas Yadav and MA&UD Special Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar inspected the stepwell on Friday. They were accompanied by members of the Rainwater Project, a social enterprise led by Kalpana Ramesh. The government of Telangana worked with the social enterprise to restore the well.
“It took over 6 months to remove more than 500 tons of rubbish, silt and debris that had accumulated over decades. Once the stepwells were cleaned, structural work began,” Srinivas Yadav Say.
