The most anticipated annual event for amateur radio operators in the country, the 5th Lamakaan Amateur Radio Conference will be held in Hyderabad on December 10-11.
Hyderabad: The most anticipated annual event for amateur radio operators in the country, the 5th Lamakaan Amateur Radio Conference or LARC-5 will be held at Mufakkam Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) in Hyderabad on December 10-11.
Over 500 amateur radio operators (aka hams or ham operators) from around the country will attend the two-day conference to share and gain knowledge about radio technology, wireless technology, building radios and antennas.
The event will feature several workshops and competitions on different topics. Symposium topics included the latest in amateur technology – QO-100 Satellite Communications, which got a boost after the Hyderabad-based hobbyist designed and developed the QO-100 upconverter. Other workshops include ubitx version 6, and ubitx version 7 and the release of the QO-100 power amplifier.
As well as the workshops, there will also be fox hunting challenges, homebrew challenges, homebrew competitions and live competitions. Another fun aspect of the two-day event is the flea market, where hobbyists can buy anything from precision radios to connectors, tools, cables and other electronics.
