Hyderabad: Neredmet police arrested a man on Wednesday for threatening and raping an underage girl at a rescue home and orphanage in JJ Nagar.
The arrestee, Murali Kumar, 30, who works as an accountant at the same agency, allegedly had been sexually harassing girls at the premises for the past few days. According to police, he reportedly attempted to sexually woo the victim. When she resisted, he threatened her and allegedly raped her. He also threatened her not to reveal it to anyone.
The incident came to light a few days later when four girls from the orphanage fled, and a disappearance was subsequently registered.
Police tracked and counseled them near the Secunderabad railway station. That’s when the girls exposed the suffering. According to the complaint, Neredmet police opened a case and arrested Murali.
