(representative image). Punjab police have arrested a person suspected of being involved in the theft of cars and confiscated his vehicle.
Hyderabad: Punjagutta police have arrested a person on suspicion of auto theft and confiscated his vehicle.
P. Vijaya Kumar, (33) KPHB Colonial and West Godavari native allegedly stole a car belonging to a doctor from NIMS Hospital on 29 September.
After receiving the complaint, the police opened a case and after checking the surveillance cameras installed in the surrounding environment, the thief was identified and arrested.
“Initially, Vijaya Kumar worked as a driver with a doctor and left work after making a duplicate key of the vehicle. As soon as he got a chance, he went to the NIMS hospital and drove the car from the parking lot,” Punjaguta said. Detective Deputy Inspector Mohd Rafiuddin said.
He was shown in court and remanded in custody.
