New Delhi: A man was arrested in Punjab’s Patiala on Friday for killing a common-law partner in the capital’s Tilak Nagar district.
According to Special CP Crime Ravinder Yadav, on December 2, 2022, a team of the crime branch arrested the accused Manpreet Singh, 45, residing at Sangam Flat, Paschim Vihar East, New Delhi, from his hometown Nabha, Alipur, Chintawala. , Patiala district, Punjab.
The defendant is wanted for the murder of Rekha Rani. In this regard, Tilak Nagar Police Station has registered a case with U/s 302/201 IPC dated December 1, 2022.
According to the police, the accused fled to Punjab by car after killing her. He is evading arrest. Technical surveillance was carried out and efforts were made to trace the accused with the help of specialized technical investigations, who were traced in Punjab.
The defendant’s car was tracked through a toll barrier and the defendant was arrested in his hometown in Punjab. The accused was arrested U/s 41.1 (d) CrPC. He had previously been involved in seven heinous cases including kidnapping for ransom, attempted murder, and arms.

She said she was a Grade 10 student at Guru Harkishan Public School, Fateh Nagar, Delhi, according to Delhi Police. She lives with her mother and uncle Manpreet at her home. She is being treated for migraines.
On December 1, when she woke up at 06:00 in the morning, her uncle Manpreet gave her medicine and put her to bed. When she became suspicious, she asked Manpreet about her mother’s whereabouts. He told her she went to the market. She called her cousin about the matter and set off for her cousin’s house in Paschim Vihar. They called the police, only to find their house in Ganesh Nagar locked. She further said that Manpreet and her mother had been arguing for some time over money. She suspects that Manpreet hurt her mother.
Police opened the door of the house and found her mother dead. After the local police arrived at the scene, they found that Reka’s body had multiple stab wounds on the face and neck, and the ring finger of his right hand was mutilated.
Based on local information, CCTV footage, technical monitoring, CDR analysis, detectives from the Crime Unit set out to apprehend the accused Manpreet. Secret informers are sent to track him down.
