Hyderabad: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) have urged devotees who will be attending Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple to wear face masks.
The move comes after the central and state governments issued new Covid-19 guidelines. The temple is being carefully arranged for Vaikunta Dwara Darshan to ensure that devotees will not face any inconvenience.
According to YV Subba Reddy, chairman of TTD, from January 2 to 11, 45,000 slotted sarva darshan tickets will be issued for Vaikunta Dwara Darshan every day. The distribution of free SSD tokens will begin at 2pm on January 1 at 92 counters across nine centers in Tirupati.
These centers include Bhudevi Complex, Indira Maidan, Ramachandra Pushkarini, Jeevakona ZP High School, Vishnu Nivasam, Srinivasam, Ramanaidu Municipal High School, Seshadrinagar ZP High School in Bairagippatteda and Govindaraja choultries.
Devotees who have SSD tokens have been asked to report to Sri Krishna Teja Rest House in Tirumala on their designated date and time to avoid long waits for darshan. TTD said it will not distribute Srivani tickets personally.
In view of New Year’s Day, Vaikunta Ekadasi on January 2, and Vaikunta Dwadasi on January 3, all bookings for accommodation from December 29 to January 3 will be cancelled. Due to the limited accommodation in Tirumala, even VIPs are only allocated two rooms.
