Guntur: A medical student who refused to marry him has had his throat slit by a man in a horrific incident. The incident happened on Monday in Takkellapdu village, Pedakakani Mandal, Guntur district.
Tapaswi (20 years old), from Krishnapuram Village, Vuyyuru, Krishna District, is a third-year BDS student in Vijayawada. Her parents are in Mumbai. About two years ago, she met Gnaneshwar, a software engineer, on Instagram. They fell in love and decided to get married. The parents also agreed, but a few months ago a disagreement arose between them and she decided to call off the marriage.
Although she started avoiding him and refusing to answer his calls, Gnaneshwar continued to pressure her. The girl was staying with her friend in Takkellapdu when Gnaneswar came to her room on Monday morning and made a fuss over the annulment of the marriage. In a planned attack, he slit her throat with a scalpel blade and attempted to inflict damage on his hands.
When the girl started yelling, her roommate came out and was horrified to see Tapasvi bleeding profusely. She was taken to hospital where she died while receiving treatment. Gnaneshwar tried to lock himself inside the house but was overpowered by locals on Monday night and captured and handed over to police.
