Pedapali: Bharatiya Janata Party militants threw rocks at police during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tour, injuring two officers.
According to police, several BJP staff from Jagtial tried to rush towards the prime minister as he prepared to board the helicopter after a public meeting at the NTPC stadium. The police stopped before BJP militants got into an argument with the police and threw stones at them.
However, BJP activists claimed the incident happened when the police refused to let them attend the meeting.
Earlier, residents of NTPC town faced trouble as several roads in the town were closed following the prime minister’s plan.
Interestingly, many people hoisted black flags on top of houses in Godavarikhani after the Singareni union issued a bandh call on Saturday. Some people in Karimnagar town also put out black balloons.
