Hyderabad: Hailed as one of the last films of veteran actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik, ‘Mirg’ has finished post-production and is ready for release. The film stars Raj Babbar, Anup Soni and Shwetaabh Singh, with Satish Kaushik playing an important role.
‘Mirg’ is a species of mountain leopard found in the lower regions of Himachal Pradesh. There are many myths surrounding this rare creature. Myths and stories are what separate the “Mirg” from the common leopard. Larger than life yet surprisingly believable story!
Genre-shattering “Milger” explores the journey of one man, Anil, a bright but caged boy who obeys orders. Set in the jungles of Himachal Pradesh, Milger is a revenge drama of a heist gone wrong and a journey to realize that in the jungle the difference between the hunter and the hunted is just a letter.
Director Tarun Sharma said: “My main goal when filming ‘Milger’ was to bring audiences a compelling film. All aspects of filmmaking should come together to create something compelling that takes people to another level. A reality. To me, that’s the magic of cinema.”
Talking about the cast of the film, he said, “I am very lucky to have a fantastic and dedicated crew. It is a blessing to have such stalwart supporters as Raj Babbar, Satish Kaushik and Anup Soni in my debut feature.” Satish Satish Kaushik was the first actor to join and to my surprise he agreed to make the movie within 2 hours of me sending the script. To this day I can’t believe he’s not around anymore gone.”
He further elaborated, “His childlike enthusiasm for film is something I will never forget. I really wanted him to see the final product, but sadly, it was a feeling that didn’t materialize. I It must also be added that Shwetaabh’s performance cuts through these veteran actors.”
Speaking of ‘Mirg’, actor Raj Babbar said: “I really enjoyed filming for this movie. We had a lot of fun. Tarun is a great director; Get hold of the character. This technique makes you more attached to the character, and you develop a sense of responsibility to really do it justice. Every single actor in this movie delivered nuanced performances.”
Actor Anup Soni added: “‘Mirg’ is many films in one film. The storyline is unpredictable and the approach is very fresh. It was a great experience for me to make a film with such outstanding actors as Mr. Satish Kaushik and Mr. Raj Babbar A dream come true. Tarun was a visionary; I blindly followed his lead and I’m so glad I did. Now I can’t wait for it to come to screen.”
“Mirg” is largely financed by UK-based Studio RA and produced by Rishi Anand, NaMa productions (Shwetaabh Singh) and OneShot Films (Tarun Sharma). It was filmed in areas of Himachal Pradesh like Una, Hamirpur, Govind Sagar Lake and the jungles of Himachal Pradesh.
