Hyderabad: A woman who was attacked by her daughter’s former friend died while being treated at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday night.
The attacker, Sandeep, who is related to Shobha’s daughter Vaibhavi, attacked the mother and daughter at their home in Miyapur and later attempted suicide on Tuesday morning.
According to the police, the 19-year-old girl was staying at her mother’s home in Ayodhyanagar, Miyapur.
Vaibhavi and Sandeep have reportedly maintained a friendship over the past few years. However a rift arises between them and the girl starts avoiding Sandeep.
Sandeep came to the victim’s home on Tuesday morning and attacked Shobha with a knife, as did Vaibhavi, who was trying to rescue her.
Sandeep later slit his throat and tried to end his life.
The police rushed to the scene and transferred the mother and daughter to a private hospital while Sandeep was transferred to a private hospital.
Sandeep’s condition remains critical.
