Nargonda: The people of Munugod will go to the polls on Thursday after a high-decibel campaign that ended on Tuesday.
Polling station workers arrived at their assigned polling station in Munugode on Wednesday night along with voting materials including EVM, VVPAT and control units.
Voting will begin at 7am in parliamentary constituencies on Thursday and will run until 6pm, with counting to begin on November 6.
Polling staff collect voting materials at a reception centre set up by Don Bosco College in the constituency of Chandur, and then take a specially arranged bus to their assigned polling station with tight police security. Miniature observers also arrived at the polling station.
Election Chief Observer Pankaj Kumar and District Election Officer T Vinay Krishna Reddy oversaw the distribution of voting materials to polling staff at reception centres.
Vinay Krishna Reddy said 47 candidates fought in the constituency, which had 2,41,855 voters. Voting will take place at 298 polling stations. Three layers of security are provided for all polling stations. Paramilitary forces and the national police have been deployed at 105 key polling stations.
