Some employees who lost their jobs at Twitter India and did not want to be named told IANS that when they logged into the system from home on Friday (Twitter is still in work-from-home mode), they were denied access.
New Delhi: For most of the nearly 200 Twitter India employees, Friday morning was utter chaos as they lost access to official email, internal Slack and group chats as they were unfortunate to be part of the most brutal Elon global dismissal of Musk’s Way.

“Right now we’re waiting for an email with the subject line ‘If your job is affected, you will be notified of the next steps via your personal email’, as the company says. We don’t know anything about severance pay etc,” they exclaimed.
In Twitter’s Slack and group chats after Musk took over as the new CEO last week, employees earlier complained about a lack of internal communication from executives.
“It’s one of the most inhumane ways to get rid of us. After so many years at Twitter India, we haven’t had any communication since Musk took over,” the affected worker told eans.
Some employees still at Twitter India have been living in fear of the next round of job losses, which they believe will happen sooner with Musk’s intentions in mind.
The new chief executive’s goal is to cut about half of his 7,600 employees, or about 3,800 employees.
Access to employee badges in Twitter’s offices has been “temporarily” closed, according to the company.
“To help keep every employee and Twitter’s systems and customer data safe, our offices are temporarily closed and all badge access is suspended. If you’re in the office or on your way to the office, please go home,” Twitter said in an internal memo said in.
