Hyderabad: Nodal officials appointed by the Hyderabad Regional Election Authority will visit degree and PG colleges in the city to recruit eligible students as voters.
Determination of educational institutions will begin on Monday and continue through Wednesday. The campaign is underway after the Hyderabad District Election Officer (DEO) directed the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to focus on students from government and private universities.
“Applications from students belonging to other districts will be sent to their respective constituencies,” said an official at the Hyderabad District Election Authority. The DEO also directed the ERO to ensure 100 percent voter registration for all students by Dec. 4.
Meanwhile, a special event was held on Sunday to recruit new voters and correct the electoral roll. The event was held at all polling stations located in the 15 council areas of the Hyderabad district.
