Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court Bar Association went on strike on Friday to protest against the Supreme Court full bench proposal to transfer Justice A Abhishek Reddy to Patna.
The Bar Association has also decided to submit a statement to Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud, calling for the withdrawal of the committee’s recommendation for the reassignment of Justice Abhishek Reddy. Association president V Raghunath said the representative would also be presented to Union Legal Minister Kiren Rijiju and the union secretary.
Meanwhile, advocates in all district courts, apart from those in the High Court, also boycotted their duties as part of an indefinite strike. After a meeting with the Chief Justice of India (CJI) on Saturday, the association is likely to meet on Monday to review calls to continue the indefinite strike.
