Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) chairman and managing director N Sridhar on Thursday directed officials to increase the loading capacity of the Coal Processing Plant (CHP) from the current 1.09 100 million tons is 133 million tons.
Sridhar, who held a review meeting with senior company officials on coal production and cogeneration, said that as the company plans to open new mines to meet its coal production target of 75 million tons in the current fiscal year and 85 million tons in the next two years, by 2025- In 26 years, the coal transportation capacity of the existing cogeneration should be increased to 133 million tons accordingly.
CMD said it plans to increase CHP capacity to at least 5 million tonnes this year, with CHP capacity at Uppal Siding at 2 million tonnes, GDK-5 open-pit mine at 1 million tonnes and Odisha at 2 million tonnes Transportation to the Naini coal block will be developed.
He further said that by 2025-26, the capacity of CHP will be further increased to 23 million tons per annum. The mine has a capacity of 1 million tons and the Ramagundam-2 area has a capacity of 5 million tons.
Singareni Corporation has decided to build a railway siding and combined heat and power near Mandamarri at a cost of Rs 1.3 billion by July next year, Sridhar said.
