Angels: “Squid Game” actor Oh Young-soo has been accused of sexual misconduct, South Korean judicial officials say.
The 78-year-old was accused of inappropriately touching a woman in 2017, officials said, bbc.com reported.
O denied the allegation, according to local media reports.
Earlier this year, his performance on the Netflix thriller chart made him the first South Korean actor to win a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Series.
The alleged victim first complained to the police about O in December last year, Yonhap News Agency reported.
But the case was closed in April without charges against O. Prosecutors are now reopening their investigation “at the victim’s request,” the agency reported.
It added that O has now been charged and is not in custody.
Following the allegations, Seoul’s culture ministry decided to stop airing government advertisements featuring O, bbc.com reported.
“The Squid Game,” Netflix’s most popular series of all time, is a thriller about deeply indebted folks vying for big cash prizes in a series of deadly kid’s games.
O plays the oldest participant in the survival race.
