Hyderabad: A student from the city who went to Rome, Italy to study engineering was found dead in his room in suspicious circumstances.
P. Uday Kumar (28) from Banjara Apartments, Padmaraonagar, Secunderabad, made his first trip to Italy in 2018 and completed his master’s degree at the University of Rome I, returning to the city in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic .
After the situation improved, he returned to Italy in 2021 to continue his studies and moved in in a shared tenancy in Rome.
On 4 November, his family in Hyderabad received an email informing them that Udaikumar had been found dead. The anxious family contacted his roommate and other friends there, but received little information.
Uday Kumar’s parents, retired railway employees P. Ramachandra and P. Rajeshwari met with Minister of Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav and explained the situation, asking him to help bring the body back to India as soon as possible.
The minister pledged to provide appropriate assistance to find out the cause of his death and to bring the body back to the city as soon as possible. He also spoke with officials from the Indian Embassy in Italy.
Meanwhile, the local Chilkalguda Police Station has also received a complaint.
