Hyderabad: The assets of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which was recently renamed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), have grown by more than 66% in the 2021-22 period.
The party’s annual audited accounts and annual donation report to the Election Commission of India (ECI) showed that its liquid assets had risen to Rs 4.80 crore from Rs 2.88 crore in 2020-21.
The party’s revenue jumped 480 per cent to Rs 2,181.1 crore from Rs 376.5 crore over the same period.
For 2021-22, the party led by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will receive Rs 1.53 billion through electoral bonds and another Rs 400 crore through electoral trusts. The party has had no income under these two programs for the past year.
The annual membership/subscription fee has been reduced from Rs 167 crore to Rs 7.54 crore. There were no donations or donations from companies for the year, while the party received Rs 3.15 lakh from companies in 2020-21.
The party’s electoral expenditure in 2021-22 is Rs 7.68 lakh compared to Rs 4.79 lakh in 2020-21. The opening balance for the year ended March 31, 2022 was Rs. 3.07 billion as against Rs. 2.92 billion in the previous year.
The statement also showed that the balance of the party’s scheduled banks with maturities of more than 12 months was Rs 4.51 billion in 2021-22 and Rs 2.56 billion in 2020-21.
At the TRS plenary meeting in April, party chairman and chief minister KCR had said the party was a Rs 1,000-crore entity, enough for him to enter national politics.
