Hyderabad: The state cabinet sanctioned a total of 1,203 posts in the Telangana Special Protection Force, the state’s paramilitary force that plays a vital role in the security of the state assembly, state secretariat and other key state institutions .
The Cabinet also cleared the way for the first time to recruit women into the army, approving 12 female SI posts and 70 female constable posts.
The newly approved SPF constable posts include 730 constable posts at the State High Court and other district courts, 277 constable posts at Telangana State Electricity Generation Corporation (TSGenco) and 114 constable posts at Begumpet Airport. In addition, the Cabinet, which met on Saturday, also approved the positions of a DIG and an additional commander.
The cabinet also approved sanctions for another 4,600 positions in the state’s courts. Another 25 positions were approved for recruitment at Kukunoorpally Industrial Training College in Medak district.
