Hyderabad: The Telangana Special Investigations Team (SIT), which was formed by the government to investigate MLA poaching cases, has widened its scope to conduct a series of raids in different states of the country.
Over the past two days, SIT teams have raided the offices and residences of several MLAs and a minister in Kerala, Delhi, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, sources said. The attacks were carried out in ten places across the country, including Hyderabad.
“The raid was conducted based on information obtained while in custody by the three individuals arrested in connection with the MLA poaching case,” said an official who is part of the special investigation team.
In Kerala, police questioned a doctor and Swamy Jaggu close to Ramachandra Bharati, one of three alleged BJP agents arrested.
SIT officers split into teams and traveled to different cities to conduct raids. Police also reportedly confiscated some documents during the raid.
The Telangana government has set up a special investigation unit to investigate MLA poaching cases and Hyderabad CP, CV Anand is leading the team comprising officials from various ranks.
