Hyderabad: The special judge in the SPE and ACB cases took three accused BJP agents to judicial custody at Moinabad police on Saturday before a judge at his home.
The three – Ramachandra Bharati, Nanda Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy – were detained by the Cyberbad Police within hours of the Telangana High Court asking them to turn themselves in at the Cyberbad Police.
The three were transferred to Moinabad police station, where officers completed legal formalities and took them to the government hospital in Chevella for medical examinations. They were later taken to Gadhianaram and presented before a judge.
Police were told that Nanda Kumar was a resident of Chaitanyapuri and had been living in an apartment in Shaikpet for some time. Ramachandra Bharati and Simhayaji Swamy were detained from his home on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, the Telangana High Court ordered three people involved in the MLA poaching case to surrender to police for further investigation after hearing a petition filed by Cyberbad police.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court rejected the remand requests of the three accused in the case. Cyberabad police have moved to HC to challenge the ACB court order.
The High Court reversed the MACC court order and ordered three BJP-linked individuals to surrender to the police.
The court passed the orders after Telangana Police filed a request for review of the ACB court order. The ACB court dismissed the remand appeals of Ramachandra Bharati, Nanda Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy’s Cyberabad police and asked them to investigate after being notified under 41 CrPC.
