Hyderabad: Ugram, Allari Naresh’s latest film, opens in theaters today. What’s interesting about this movie is that Naresh once again filmed Ugram with Naandhi director Vijay Kanakamedala. The duo tried some honest content last time around. But this time it’s an action movie, let’s discuss how they entertained audiences in this review of Ugram.
Ugram is the story of Shiva Kumar (Allari Naresh), an honest and passionate policeman. Unfortunately Shiva Kumar and his family had an accident and then two things happened. Shiva Kumar suffers from dementia and his family is missing. How Shiva Kumar finds his family again is the rest of the story.
Allari Naresh’s action avatar in Ugram is unbelievable. His intensity and ferocity, especially in the action sequences, are the film’s main draws.
Vijay Kanakamedala turned slightly towards commercial value at Ugram. Instead, he could have opted for another honest attempt like Naandhi. This business approach of Ugram affected Vijay’s content quality but how to balance Naresh’s production skills and presentation.
Mirnaa and Baby Uha impress in the film as Naresh’s wife and daughter respectively. Shatru and Indraja capture the roles very well.
Ugram is strong technically. Sri Charan Pakala’s stunning vocals in the climax and the soundtrack are superb. The camera, lighting and action departments all give Ugram the best.
Ugram should focus on Allari Naresh and his action avatar which we have never seen before. Despite the film’s flaws in its incomplete exploration of the main plot, Naresh and Vijay will keep you satisfied with the film’s action and production.
