UPDATE – 12:42 PM, Friday – December 2

Hyderabad: Senior journalist and Braj Foundation chairman Vineet Narain has expressed concern over the negligent attitude of the central and state governments in protecting the Mathura ruins, saying the government has indulged in looting and squandering public funds in the name of religious tourism development.
Vineet Narain wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and 80 other BJP and RSS leaders close to Modi on Friday, detailing illegal activities in Mathura under the guise of promoting religious tourism. He said he had been writing to relevant people in the central and state governments on the issue since the past five years but had noticed no apparent action in this regard. He said that although the BJP government claimed to be working for the development of Hinduism, it was not actually delivering on its promises.
He asked them to read carefully the reports in the two videos he released today and explain why they have been silent since the past four years on the vandalism of two heritage sites in Mathura by the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh. “You have been silent because I am asking simple and direct questions. If this was done by any Gandhians, Samajwadi or Communists, you people would attack them from all sides,” he said.
He said that while the Yogi government started funding the restoration of the Mathura ruins in 2017, slowly all the ruins disappeared. This has been exposed in 27 investigative reports on Braj Today’s YouTube slot.
He claims that Goshalas, Ashrams, cattle pastures and temples are being encroached in the name of Hinduism in Mathura through forged documents. He said that if authorities did not take steps to check for the violations, he would regularly expose them through social posts.
Finally, he said that he still believes that there are still people in power who care about the truth and will not turn a blind eye to the destruction of Hindu sites.
