New Delhi: Senior journalist Ravish Kumar has reportedly resigned from his position as senior executive editor of NDTV India.
The news channel is said to have announced its resignation via internal communication on Wednesday, according to reports.
Ramon Magasaysay Award-winning news anchor who has hosted hit shows ‘Prime Time’, ‘Ravish Ki Report’, ‘Hum Log’ and ‘Desh Ki Baat’.
NDTV said his resignation was effective immediately, the sources said.
“Few journalists have had as much impact on people as Ravish,” the report said, citing an internal communication.
The resignation comes a day after the new NDTV board approved the resignation of founders Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy as directors of RRPR Holding Private Ltd (RRPR), the promoter group vehicle of NDTV. This means that NDTV’s current and long-standing promoters and management have now exited the company.
The Board also appointed Sanjay Pugalia and Senthil Chengalvarayan to the RRPRH Board of Directors, effective immediately.
It is worth mentioning that RRPR Holding, the promoter of NDTV, said on Monday that it has transferred its 99.5% stake to Vishvapradhan Commercial (VCPL), a subsidiary of Adani Group, thus completing the official acquisition of NDTV by Adani Group. .
The share transfer will give Adani Group control of a 29.18% stake in NDTV. The diversified conglomerate is also in the open for a 26% stake in the media company.
