Hyderabad: A sub-inspector rescued an abandoned baby from an apartment in Kushaiguda on Sunday.
The incident took place in an apartment building located in the Kamalangal Colony of Kushagudah. Residents noticed a toddler in the apartment yard and searched for the parents to discover they had abandoned the baby.
The people at the apartment notified the Kushaiguda Police and Deputy Inspector M Sai Kumar arrived at the apartment. He notified the 108 ambulance that arrived at the scene, and was later transferred to Niloufer Hospital after a preliminary examination at a local private hospital.
“After getting information from the locals, I arrived at the scene and found the baby wrapped in cloth. Due to certain problems, the parents may abandon the baby on the spot and leave. The child was transferred to Niloufer Hospital for treatment and efforts are underway to identify and trace People who leave babies,” said Kushaiguda Deputy Inspector M. Sai Kumar.
The police have opened a case and launched an investigation.
