PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Youth in the Skeena region looking for paid training and work experience have until this Friday, June 13, to apply for a comprehensive employment and skills program.

The Youth Employment & Skills Strategy (Y.E.S.S.) program, offered by TRICORP, is a paid opportunity for youth aged 15-30 who are not returning to school and have a valid Social Insurance Number. The program is designed to provide the necessary skills for work, learning, and life.

The 12-week program is split into two parts:

    • 6 weeks of online, instructor-led skills building, focusing on resume writing, career development, interview preparation, and other soft, essential, and life skills.
    • 6 weeks of hands-on work experience, supported by a job coach.

Participants will also benefit from certificate training and one-on-one mentoring to help them strengthen their employability and navigate the labour market.

The program is set to begin on June 23, 2025.

This initiative is a valuable opportunity for local youth to earn an income while building a foundation for their future careers.

All general inquiries about the program can be directed to TRICORP by phone at 250-624-3535 or by email at tricorp@citywest.ca. More information is also available on their website at www.tricorp.ca.
