WHITE ROCK, B.C. – In a major move for the Northwest B.C. resource sector, TDG Gold Corp. has announced it is acquiring the historic, past-producing Anyox Copper project and raising C$25 million to fund future exploration.
The deal, announced Tuesday morning, will see TDG Gold acquire Anyox Copper Ltd. through an amalgamation agreement. The historic Anyox mine, located on the coast north of Prince Rupert, was a high-grade copper producer from 1914 to 1935, when it was closed due to low metal prices during the Great Depression.
In connection with the acquisition, TDG Gold also announced a C$25 million “bought deal” private placement financing agreement, co-led by BMO Capital Markets. The company says the new funds will allow for significant exploration work at both its existing projects in the Toodoggone District and at the newly acquired Anyox site.
“Our proposed acquisition of Anyox Copper marks an important milestone as TDG continues to evolve as a copper-gold exploration company and positions us as a leading tenure holder in the previously prolific Anyox mining district,” TDG’s Chief Executive Officer said in a statement.
The move combines two significant players in B.C.’s “Golden Horseshoe” and has the support of strategic investor Skeena Gold + Silver, which intends to invest $4 million as part of the transaction.
The CEO of Anyox, who will be joining TDG as its Vice President of Corporate Development, commented, “Combining Anyox and TDG provides potential for multiple, impactful discoveries in two mining districts in British Columbia.”
TDG plans to spend approximately $5 million on the Anyox project before the end of 2025, including geophysical work to define drill targets. The company says the tidewater access and rich mining history of the Anyox site make it a prime location for both rediscovery and new discovery potential.
