KITIMAT, B.C. – For years, Kitimat residents needing to rent a moving truck or trailer faced a long drive. But now, a new U-Haul dealership has officially opened in the community, saving locals a 120-kilometre round trip to Terrace.

The new U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer is now operating out of the Transdev Canada office, located at 780 Lahakas Blvd S.

This new service is a significant convenience for the community. Previously, anyone in Kitimat who needed to rent U-Haul equipment had to travel to the nearest location in Terrace. With the new local dealership, residents can now rent a range of trucks, trailers, and moving supplies right here in town.

The arrival of the service is a welcome sign for a growing community, as new and existing residents often need moving services when relocating for jobs or changing homes within the district.

The new dealership is operating out of the local depot for Transdev Canada, the global mobility company that runs the Kitimat transit system. According to the U-Haul website, the location is open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The launch provides a much-needed local option for moving and transportation needs, supporting the continued growth of Kitimat.
